We encourage all families to take advantage of these scholarships as 100% of Ohio students qualify! Please note, students must be enrolled at STVM before submitting state scholarship applications so these applications aren’t due until the spring.

The maximum scholarship amount for the 24-25 school year is $8,408 for grades 9-12.
Income Verification The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce uses an online Scholarship Income Verification System. The system is available for families to enter and submit their income information electronically to the Office of Nonpublic Educational Options for verification. Parents are able to enter household member information, income information and upload supporting income documents directly into the online system. More detailed instructions can be found under EdChoice Resources
How do I know if we are eligible to apply for the EdChoice Scholarship? For EdChoice-traditional: The ODEW reviews designated schools annually. You can view the current list here 2024-2025 Designated School List
For EdChoice-Expansion: Scholarships for EdChoice Expansion are awarded based on the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of a family’s household. If a family’s household income is at or below 450 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, they will be awarded the maximum scholarship amount. If a family’s household income is at or above 451 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, the student’s scholarship award will be prorated based on the chart found under EdChoice Expansion Resources.
How do I apply for the EdChoice Scholarship? To apply for the EdChoice Scholarship, your eligible child must first apply and be accepted to STVM. We will provide you with an EdChoice application and further directions at the time of your child's acceptance.
Is the EdChoice Scholarship renewable? Yes, the scholarship can be renewed each year through grade 12 as long as the student:
Does not move to another public-school district (unless the student would be assigned to an EdChoice-designated public school in the student's new district).
Takes all required state achievement tests.
Does not have more than 20 unexcused absences for the school year.
What costs are not covered? EdChoice Scholarship funds are applicable to tuition only.
