• When does St. Vincent-St. Mary host an Open House?

  STVM is hosting two Open Houses this year:
  

  • Sunday, October 1 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Monday, November 6 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

  Please click here to reserve your family's place at one of our Open Houses.  Reservations are not required but are helpful.

• Do you require an admission test? If so, what test do you accept?

  STVM administers and accepts the High School Placement Test for freshman applicants. We will administer this test on the following dates:
  

  • Saturday, October 7th
  • Saturday, October 28th (accommodations available)
  • Saturday, November 18th
  • Saturday, December 2 (accommodations available)

  Please note the following: The test fee is $30.00. Families can register their child online by clicking on the link below starting September 1. When prompted, please enter ZH for our registration access code.

• Does my child need a certain score in order to be admitted to St. Vincent-St. Mary?

  No. We consider many factors in the admissions process with grades being the most important factor. In past years, we accepted about 85% of freshman applicants for admission for admission, and about 60% of transfer applicants. 

• What is the application process for 8th graders attending Catholic elementary schools?

  Eighth graders attending Catholic schools will apply the week of January 8 - 12 through a Digital Academy link provided by their elementary school.
  
  These items are required:
  

  • Digital Academy admission application.
  • Latest 8th grade report card (provided to us by your school)
  • Final 7th grade report card (provided to us by your school)
  • Latest available standardized test scores (such as NWEA scores or Ohio state testing)
  • Two completed teacher recommendation forms (provided to us by your school)
  • High School Placement Test results.
  • Attendance record from 7th and 8th grades

• What is the application process for 8th graders attending public, private, charter or home schools?

  Eighth graders attending public, private, charter or home schools apply between Wednesday, November 1 and Friday, January 12 by completing our admission application via BlackBaud.
  
  These items are required:
  

  • BlackBaud admission application
  • Latest 8th grade report card (uploaded through BlackBaud)
  • Final 7th grade report card (uploaded through BlackBaud)
  • Latest available standardized test scores such as NWEA scores or Ohio state testing (uploaded through BlackBaud)
  • Two completed teacher recommendation forms (parents will be prompted through BlackBaud to email two teachers; recommendation forms will be received electronically)
  • High School Placement Test results
  • Attendance record from 7th and 8th grade (provided by your child's current school)

• What is the application process for current high school students who would like to transfer to St. Vincent-St. Mary?  When can transfer students start at St. Vincent-St. Mary?

  Current freshmen and sophomores can apply for second semester or early January entry between November 1 and December 15. Students wanting to enter as sophomores or juniors for the 2024-25 school year apply after February 1 with applications reviewed until the class is full or Friday, July 31, whichever comes first. Potential transfer students apply online via Blackbaud.

  • Latest report card from the current school year (uploaded through BlackBaud)
  • Final report card from the previous school year (uploaded through BlackBaud)
  • Latest available standardized test scores (uploaded through BlackBaud) (optional but helpful)
  • Two completed teacher recommendation forms (parents will be prompted through BlackBaud to email two teachers; recommendation forms will be received electronically)
  • Attendance record from the previous school year and current school year.

• What types of scholarships are offered? When should I apply for merit scholarships?

  Academic scholarships are offered to incoming freshmen with exceptional scores on the High School Placement Test. Typically, students whose composite score is between the 80th and 99th percentile qualify for awards ranging from $2,000 - $5,000. Once a student receives his or her HSPT results, a family can consult with our Enrollment Management Office to determine the amount of the award.
  
  Family Memorial Scholarships are offered to incoming freshmen who demonstrate good grades and behavior. While many of these awards are offered to students who demonstrate financial need, others have different criteria such as being a member of a particular parish or being the son or daughter of a STVM graduate. Please click here to review details regarding these scholarships. Family Memorial Scholarship applications should be submitted by Monday, November 20. Because many of our Family Memorial Scholarships are need-based, interested families should complete the FACTS Financial Aid Form by clicking here.

• What need-based financial aid does St. Vincent-St. Mary offer?

  Need-based grants are offered by STVM and the Diocese of Cleveland. STVM wants as many qualified students as possible to attend. Interested families should complete the FACTS Financial Aid Form by clicking here.

• Does St. Vincent-St. Mary accept EdChoice scholarship applications?

  Yes, STVM accepts both Traditional EdChoice Scholarships and EdChoice Expansion Scholarships. Please click here for more information regarding EdChoice.
  

  • EdChoice Scholarships are now offered to all families living in Ohio! Scholarship amounts range from $950 - $8,407 depending on the household size and income. 
  • Traditional EdChoice Scholarships are for students who are deemed living in a public school district with low test scores. Please click here for a list of public high schools who qualify.

  • EdChoice Expansion Scholarships are for students, regardless of their home school district, who may qualify for a state need-based grant based on family income and household size. Please click here for income and household guidelines.

  
  These EdChoice Scholarships, sponsored by the Ohio Department of Education, allow many students to attend STVM who might not otherwise be able to. Interested families should apply between March 1 and June 30th each year.

• Does St. Vincent-St. Mary accept the Jon Peterson Scholarship and/or Autism Scholarship?

  Yes. Because STVM has programs to assist students with learning differences and select students on the Autism spectrum, we accept both Jon Peterson Scholarships and the Autism Scholarship from the state of Ohio.

• Does St. Vincent-St. Mary have any special programs to assist students with learning differences, ADHD and/or Autism?

  STVM offers an Intervention Program for students with mild to moderate learning differences, ADHD/ADD, and/or select students on the Autism spectrum.  Students meet with one of our Intervention teachers frequently.  Some students in this program may have a somewhat modified curriculum as a result (for example, some students may not take a language until sophomore year).  We can accept up to 20 students a year for this program.  Students interested in being a part of our Intervention Program would submit their IEP/504 plan along with their ETR plan as part of our application process.

• How much is tuition, and what payment plans does St. Vincent-St. Mary offer?

  Tuition for the 2023-24 school year is $13,100, plus a $400 Instructional Fee, which includes use of a Chromebook. The following payment plans are available:
  
  

  • 100% of tuition due June 1. Paying this allows families to deduct $200 from tuition.

  • 50% of tuition due June 1, and 50% due December 1. There is a $25 fee for this option.

  • 25% of tuition due on June 1, September 1, December 1 and March 1. There is a $50 fee for this option.

  • 10 monthly payments from July through April. There is an $80 fee for this option.

  • 12 monthly payments from June through May. There is a $96 fee for this option. This option is not available for seniors/12th graders.

  SMART processes all tuition payments. Parents have the option of having tuition payments deducted from a checking or savings account. For a 3% fee, parents can have tuition charged to their Visa or MasterCard.

• My current high school student plays sports at his/her school. If s/he wanted to transfer to St. Vincent-St. Mary, is s/he immediately eligible to play sports? Are there any OHSAA rules regarding transfer students?

  While a student is immediately eligible to participate in all sports at STVM as a transfer, s/he would have to sit out the second half of a season in a sport s/he previously played at their previous school. This is an Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) policy. There may be some extenuating circumstances which may permit your child to be fully eligible at a new high school, such as a family relocating to a new area. Please check with the OHSAA website for specific guidelines.

• Does St. Vincent-St. Mary offer athletic scholarships?

  The Ohio High School Athletic Association forbids schools from offering scholarships to students because of athletics. We encourage students needing financial assistance to apply for need-based tuition assistance, EdChoice Scholarships and Diocese of Cleveland grants.
