Athletics Site Director

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Site Manager is responsible for the on-site coordination and oversight of athletic events held at the high school, but also not limited to away events. This role ensures all events are conducted in a safe, organized, and sportsmanlike manner, while supporting athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators. The Site Manager represents the school and serves as the primary contact during athletic events where the Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director are not present.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Arrive at least one hour prior to the home event to ensure facility readiness (e.g., unlock gates/doors, field/court setup, signage, gates, restrooms, PA system).
Act as the on-site liaison between school administration, coaches, officials, and spectators.
Monitor crowd behavior and ensure enforcement of school policies (e.g., code of conduct, ticketing, safety protocols).
Respond to and help resolve any issues or emergencies that arise during the event.
Supervise workers (e.g., ticket takers, scoreboard operators).
Oversee facility clean-up and equipment breakdown.
Ensure officials and teams depart safely after locking up the facility.
Report any incidents, injuries, or facility damage to the Athletic Director.
Minimum of two athletic events per week (maximum three).
Coverage of away events when the Athletic Director and/or Assistant Athletic Director are not present (to be agreed upon by the Site Manager and AD).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Prior experience in event coordination, education, or athletics preferred.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond quickly to problems.
Availability during evenings and weekends.
Reliable transportation and punctuality.
Knowledge of interscholastic athletics, rules, and protocols is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work in school building, arena, and athletic stadium environments.
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
Lifting, carrying, and moving work-related supplies and equipment.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
COMPENSATION:
Fall Season – $1,500.00
Winter Season – $1,500.00
Spring Season – $1,500.00
